Yay! Rock Creek Residents’ Association Officers!

Downsizing your home and moving to a senior mobile home park does not mean downsizing your life. Just ask the officers who head up the Residents’ Association at Rock Creek Mobilehome Park. These fine folks insist no one has to be lonely in an active and fun community of seniors.

The “active and fun” part is the result of the talent, creativity, and effort of people like these—people who glow when they see their neighbors joining together in friendship and love. I am so proud to be part of this group of community leaders!

Recently, the RC officers organized a survey to assess what could make living in Rock Creek even better. We canvassed each of the 200+ mobile homes, hand-delivering and then picking up the survey, then carefully reviewing each response, hoping to make the ideas a reality.

So let’s salute some really fine people—can’t just say women, ’cause we’ve got Rex! From left to right, back to front: Rex, Janice, Sheron, Susan, Barbara, Carol, Rita, and ME!

Great group of friends, here . . . as well as many more not on the board! . ..and proud to be a very small part of making our community fantastic!!!

    1. Yes, Janice … I wish I could take a group picture of all the many men and women living here at Rock Creek who give so much of themselves, quietly and faithfully, to make living here such a joy. Thank you for your comment (and your service.) Sheila

  2. I am so happy to see these wonderful officers and I know they care so much for all the park residents. I recognize everyone and I can say I loved living at Rock Creek with my dear husband for 20 years. I held all of the officer positions and we had a great time living there. As a “Alumni” I say thank you for everything the officers do to bring happiness to all the park residents. Rock Creek is the best!

    1. “Dear” Robin ,,, You and Don are certainly honored alumni! We miss your presence and your service–you as an officer and Don as he quietly and faithfully took care of the recycling duties that supports our association. We honor you. Please come and visit us at one of our activities so we can give you a hug. Would you like me to send you a newsletter so you can see what’s happening?

      1. Thank you Sheila but I will pass, I think of what the postage cost these days. You probably don’t know that I moved to Auburn Ravine Terrace last July. I am getting used to this new home but I miss Rock Creek and life as we knew it there. Auburn Ravine Terrace just got completely remodeled in the common areas and it is beautiful. Yes Don did oversee the recycling for 16 years and he seemed to love it which made me happy. I haven’t seen you in a while, I hope all is going well with you. The years go by so fast, how did I ever get to be 85 when I feel 65??? I am still at the shop on Thursdays and Fridays and I am lucky to have all my family around me. I went to Hawaii with family this past February, I love it there. Thanks for your email and everything you do.

  3. That’s a great idea – to think of the younger residents as Sophomores, and the more mature ones as Seniors. Everyone knows that the Seniors are the “cool kids.” And yay for Rex who isn’t afraid to collaborate with “the girls.”

  4. Our park is the best, and the members of our Board of Directors are a fine bunch. Fun, talented and so capable. Thanks for making this a delightful place to live. We are family in many ways.

    1. Indeed we are “family,” Ruth. Thank you for your frequent comments. Your voice helps our little lights shine!

  5. Thank you so much for all you do for our community. I participate in as many activities as I can. There are so many and I am so glad you initiate them.

    1. Just between you and me, Rhonda. You are hardly more than a “Freshman,” so decades of service to Rock Creek await you. Stay tuned, everyone–Rhonda is on her way.

  6. “The Usual Suspects” – oh wait, wrong photo…. Thank you ALL for your hard work, diligence, creativity, and commitment in serving our fabulous community here.
You make all the difference in our world 🌍. Donna
