Margaret Johnson says, “I Am Woman!”

Margaret Johnson and her husband, Dale, moved into a sweet little mobile home. They liked living “smaller.” They loved that their back deck was on the greenbelt, with a view of grass, trees, and a bubbling brook, where deer sometimes wandered by.

BUT! The garden area right in front of their house was devoid of flowers and full of rocks! Underneath all the rocks were more rocks: BIG rocks! MEAN rocks! No wonder there were no flowers growing there!

SO! Margaret purchased some flowers and nice, fresh, potting soil, and she went to work! It was Rocks vs Margaret!

For weeks, Margaret shoveled around rocks which seemed rooted in China. She stabbed deeply into the stubborn soil with an iron bar. She sweet-talked the rocks, promising to decorate with them.

Now Margaret’s flower garden is one of the prettiest on the street, edged with interesting rocks. Rocks decorate  her birdbath. Rocks define her shrubs. Those stupid rocks never had a chance against Margaret!

She is WOMAN!

  2. You are a force to contend with and I love your strong determination and sweet spirit. And your garden!

  3. It was fun to watch the progress as Shadow and I watched from Cooper’s Lawn (that’s what we call the lower clubhouse area) What a beautiful transformation her yard went through! Good job Margaret & Dale.

  4. Go Margaret! Spring will be beautiful now that you’ve conquered those big mean rocks rooted in China and tamed them into sweet little pets! I love this whole description!
