Remember when you played “school” as a child? Sometimes you were the teacher and sometimes you were the student. At first, we all believed that teachers teach …. and students listen and learn. But surprise! Now we realize that in the best classes, everyone teaches and everyone learns!
Introducing our Rock Creek Writing Group. Pictured here, on either side of me, are Tonya Wellington and Kathie Zogg. Absent on picture day were Claudia Beckwith and Katie Laffeiere.
Through our group, we have learned to be ready with pad and pen, to catch creative ideas—flitting in and out—like birds on the wing. We’ve learned to end each writing session with a “jumping off” place—so we can’t wait to write again tomorrow. Finally, we’ve learned to take off our masks and simply write from the heart!
Thank you, Rock Creek writers, for taking time to sit down and write—and then bravely sharing your bright ideas with our group. Keep on writing!
Sheila opened her heart and home and we’re all richer for it! Thankyou!!
