Meet Hunter, a dog with a very important job. He starts his day by giving 90-year-old Mary Theresa Henning a reason to get up—sometimes before dawn—and take a nice stroll outside in the fresh morning air while he does his “business.” Then, he gives her life a purpose, by requiring a bit of food and water, a kind word, and a few pats on the head. Because he is 16-years-old, he also gives Mary Theresa the necessity of preparing a bit of special nutrition to make sure he stays … around. Finally, Hunter spends the day on his pillow, watching Mary Theresa, in case she needs him.
Here you see Mary Theresa and Hunter with their luggage, after a trip to Texas to see her daughter, Donna. On the flight, Hunter was quiet as a mouse, all tucked into his carrier at Mary Theresa’s feet.
Mary Theresa thinks adopting Hunter was one of the brightest ideas she’s ever had. Anyone else out there know how she feels?
Not only that, Hunter is Mary’s British butler! Anytime I’ve arrived at her back door he gently greets me and leads the way to the couch so I’ll sit awhile. Most well mannered pup I know!
My little girl is 14, she travels with us everywhere. She loves traveling and taking walks at gas stations, hotels, airports, and new neighborhoods. They are extra work…like having a baby that doesn’t grow up, but the benefits FAR outweigh the extra effort. And, like Mary Theresa, they keep us young. Keep flying!
First, I have to ask…”Sheila, is that a typo error about Mary’s age?” No way is she 90! If so, I guess all that singing & dancing paid off 💃🏻 💃🏻💃🏻
Animals are the perfect roommate only asking for food, water & shelter. They give back unconditional love 💕 Hunter is adorable 💕
Life is incomplete without a dog!!!
